What do Clients Say?

Scott has been wonderful to work with in every way. I am moving to Estes Park from the east coast, so the whole process of finding my new home has been long distance, with two trips to look at houses. Scott has been patient, answered all of my (many) questions promptly and completely, is thoroughly knowledgeable about Estes Park, and has guided me in the right direction in all the right ways. At my request, he made a video of a house I had seen online and sent it to me along with his own observations. He has indicated things I should be thinking about but never pressured me in any way, even when a different agent might have. Without Scott, I would probably have not have even looked at the house I ultimately bought (and which is perfect for me). He knew it met what I was looking for and gently kept suggesting I see it, even though from the online photos I didn't feel it was for me -- and as soon as I saw it in person, I knew that he was right. Scott made sure the entire contract negotiation, and the closing, went smoothly. Even after the closing, Scott has gone above and beyond just selling me a house. Since I am out of town, he covered the walk-through for me, went to the closing, helped transition the utilities and my mail box, and has checked on my house weekly, inside and out, for weeks until I could get there. I trust Scott implicitly and now consider him a friend. I recommend Scott highly and without reservation, to anyone looking to buy a house in Estes Park

About Scott

I began my real estate career in 2008 with Coldwell Banker in Estes Park, following a successful 25-year career as a Chief Financial Officer in Greeley, Colorado. In 2019, I received a sales award representing the top 1% of all representatives worldwide in the Coldwell Banker network. Since 2015, I was continuously in the top six percent of all Coldwell Banker associates. While it is nice to receive recognition for my hard work, it is more important that my friends and clients consider me honest, trustworthy, dependable, and always looking out for their best interests.

Beginning January 1, 2021, I established The Thompson Group and transferred my license to Keller Williams Realty Partners, LLC. As the Rainmaker of this team, I am enjoying mentoring agents that are new to the profession and giving them the tools to reach their fullest potential. Our office is in Estes Park, Colorado, considered the Gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park.

Why Estes Park? I am a third-generation Colorado native, born in Denver and raised in Fort Morgan. My grandparents purchased property in Estes Park in the mid-60s, and the cabin is still in the family. My wife’s parents have been full-time residents of Estes Park since 1979. We live, work, and invest in the community, including involvement at Summit Church and The Rotary Club of Estes Park, where their “Service Above Self” motto serves as a guide in my career and life in general.

I hold a BS in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Accounting, from the University of Northern Colorado. My wife, Karen, and I married in 1983 and we have two lovely daughters and two golden retrievers. Kellie lives in Denver. Shannon and our son-in-law Brad live in Marietta, Ohio. Cody and Hunter are littermates and love going for long walks in the Colorado mountains.

With over a decade of service to clients in the Estes Valley, my biggest joy has been the life-long friendships I have gained along the way.
